What features ARE currently in the game?

I'm contemplating on purchasing this game and playing, as I love sandbox games. But there is SO little information about the game, I literally am having trouble of finding any features that are actually implemented and not just "for later release"

So what CAN I do in the game? and are there hostile npcs in the game? Is pvp viable? Does this game lag and rubber band constantly in combat?

I could easily get many friends to come play this game with me if the game has a few of the things I asked about, but I have to know! XD

    Hello stranger.

I will comment on the questions you ask, where I can.

Since I don't do combat/pvp (I just endure the random attacks occasionally ), I'm not the expert on that sort of topics.

What can you do in the game currently: well quite a lot.
    You can:
    - explore the area (most of it is rough country with lots of climbing),
    - swim alot (Lake Tahoe and the rivers are in the game),
    - build many things, depending on your chosen specialisation (making tools, weapons, armor, supplies for tents and walls etc),
    - form tribes and influence the terrain that your group controls (terraforming),
    - cut trees (not currently since most are already cut down as materials or for skilling-up purposes),
    - and of course kill some animals and fellow players.

All in all it can be an enjoyable experience.

Mind you though, there are also problems and features that are missing still, but if you'd join now you would have alot less of them than we had before . The game has progressed much but honestly still has a long way to go.

I hope you found my text helpful.

    Cheers,
    Wanderer of the Lonestar tribe

Greetings and welcome to the Xsyon Community,

Ill break your post down and answer them individually.

At this point in Xsyon, you are able to...

    • Traverse the Xsyon World to find a suitable spot for your Home (Homestead or Tribe)
    • Form and create different size Tribe areas depending on how many other fellow tribe members you have with you.
    • You are able to transform and manipulate the land within your Tribal area, to enable you to have a unique and customised Tribal area.
    • There are many different crafting skills you could specialise in, and with that many different recipes for you to learn.
    • There is a Decay system in place that will require you to make new items and tools when they break.
    • You can create and build many architecture buildings, walls and posts to really fortify your Tribal area.

This is just a basic sum up of what is currently available, and there is still more activities you can do once in-game.

and are there hostile npcs in the game?
Yes, there are now many different hostile NPC's in game, such as Bears, Deer, coyotes, Rabbits and not to forget those pesky evil Hamsters! Which all have resources that can be harvested and used in many recipes. Plus much more.

Is pvp viable? Does this game lag and rubber band constantly in combat?

In game the PvP is enabled and yes you can do PvP however...

PvP is currently be reworked from the ground upwards and we should have a test version of this combat revamp by the end of this week, for all to test on the public test server.

The current PvP system is been reworked to incorporate some ideas from the Mount & Blade combat system, which alot of the player base is really looking forward to.

    Future?

In the very near future we will see some really exciting new features been added. These will include...

Full combat revision with a Mount & Blade style combat.
    Agriculture and Farming
Architecture revamp, to include new recipes and custom buildings.

    Plus much much more.

The Development team is constantly working hard to get more features out for the players, and currently they are focusing on releasing content patches every Wednesday.

For a more visual look on what the game has to offer at the moment, I would recommend taking a look at some of the Tutorial videos by some of the players...
Saintbob has done some useful videos that are worth a look, if you are on the border fence.
Also take a look at some of the announcements and updates from Xsyon the main Lead Developer.

Hopefully this has answered some of your questions.

    Look forward to seeing you.

If there is anything else you would like to know, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you very much for the speedy responses I'm very glad to know this game and its community is thriving! I just may give it a go! I've watched afew videos of it, and seems like it could entertain me for afew weeks and hopefully I got lucky and joined at a good time for progress and updates in the game!

Thanks again! I didn't expect the welcoming responses I got! Seems like this will be a great community!

Hmm so it is confirmed it's going to be a MnB style combat system? That's fantastic. If the devs pull it off well this game will explode.

Hopefully with the new combat system they will have introduced a "Right Click and DUEL" option.

Perhaps after the DUEL the HP returns to full so people can duel over and over with little down time.

    Hello,

Its not 100% confirmed that this will be the finished product, however this is the style we are aiming for, and hoping to achieve.

We are hoping to release a test build for the public to start testing the combat system very very soon.
